Xiaomi Savings App
Xiaomi x Opera Max Integration
During my time with Opera Software and working with the data savings app, Opera Max, I was tasked to create designs for the OEM Xiaomi in order to integrate the Opera Max technology into their device settings.
The goal was to seamlessly integrate the Opera Max technology into the Xiaomi ecosystem in a way that didn’t feel malicious or like unnecessary bloatware.
This included being visible and allowing for shortcuts to be interacted via the homescreen, lock screen, shortcuts bar, etc. and showcasing useful information with regards to the user’s data usage.
The brief was to include short and animations that kept the engagement fun with the user calculated their data savings.
Diving deeper into the data usage, users would be able to see all of the activity installed apps are up to and when it occurs. The settings would enable more control over how these apps behave.
One of these settings includes the ability to control whether or not graphics across web applications and browsers would be allowed to appear based on their data usage and size.
This would enable users to extend their data usage by allowing images to appear on demand- also circumventing the stipulation that devices were unable to come with built-in ad-blockers.
